Why we should nofollow homepage?I
have been asked countless times that we should nofollow homepage? since its a part of site's internal pages. Yes its true homepage is an internal and main page of the site then why nofollow it? Adding a rel="nofollow" in a link means that link juice of the website won't reach it. This is bad right? that is what i am asked all the time.
There are allot of SEOs and theories which supports it and other don't. I have just one concept which i will share with everyone. You see good internal linking of sites are followed by google through the keywords, title attributes in link. Google uses the keywords or anc
hor keywords to understand what the page is about. A good seo practice includes adding a nofollow to the homepage if the keyword /anchor keyword is home.
It is because of the following reasons:
- Google and other search engines will take the internal linking and index your homepage with higher density keyword home!! Means if you site is about Art the internal linking will show that the index page is about home not art !!
- Link Juice is also shared as index page is something about Home.
Same goes with links like Back, previous, next, paginations, Read more.., Click here, Link etc. They should be nofollow as well. Your page rank theory is completely wrong! Google divides pagerank out on all links, follow and nofollow. for example, If you have a PR 10, 10 pages and 5 with no follow, the 5 pages that do pass pr will have 1 point each, not 2. All you are doing with no follow is "wasting" your pr rather than passing it. no follow is to be used only on things you may not trust... not everything.
hiiz. like i said alot of people will not agree. but this thing does matters. btw this paragraph is taken from the link to mattcuts u posted above: "Now let’s talk about the rel=nofollow attribute. but how should i make no follow home page...
ok from your admin panel > Appearence tab > Editor . Select header file. in it u will see link to Home u can search for it. in that anchor tag "a" i mean, you can add rel="nofollow" in it
nice information, but plz tell me, What Nofollow Link only for Blogs Or statics website?
Nofollow links work for each and every websites/blogs etc.
